Lights of Colors Chapter 1.1

It was nerve wracking as they sat in the tiny taxi together to head to their new home and the taxi was filled with their nervous chatter, even the taxi driver chipped in, as they watched their snowy home town fade from view and greener pastures coming in view. He rubbed his hands together in worry of how the new house was going to be like, was everyone in the town going to be friendly?, would he be able to make friends? All these thoughts ran through his head and he had to put his head in between his legs to calm.

Finally, the taxi stopped in front of the house and they got out looking up at the slightly huge new house but small enough for their own comfort. His parents went inside and he stood outside for a bit, studying his new surroundings and wondering about going exploring the town before he settled into the house.

Fog was surprised when people came up to the house to greet them and he instantly seemed to fall into place with a woman named Candy Corn Treatz. They instantly were taken with each other and talking about his past home, where he had lived, what friends he had, pretty much everything that could be talked about they talked about.

“Thanks for greeting me in the neighborhood, I hope we'll see each other around?” He smiled at her and shook hands as they went their separate ways, maybe they would meet again soon.

After this Fog decided he wanted to head into town to try and meet some new people, while his parents decided they wanted to get some new haircuts to try new things. He thought about getting a new haircut but he was still in his rebellious stage and decided to stick to long hair.

There was something nagging at the back of his head and he couldn't stop it, it was practically saying, 'Go see the fortune teller...she will bring you news.' With that in mind, he asked people around town where he could find this fortune teller and immediately headed off into that direction in a cab, he really needed to learn how to drive soon, and with a deep breathe he headed inside of the little fortune teller's cabin.

Sitting in front of the fortune teller made him nervous but he held tight and looked at her with bright worried eyes as his hand was grasped, and she looked at his palms. Her eyes widened and after several moments, she spoke.

I see happiness in your future...but I also see sadness and heartbreak. There will come a time of choosing and it will be hard, but you have to choose between a human or a supernatural?

He sat there for several minutes in confusion of what was said and stared at her almost pleading for an explanation, but she quickly asked him to leave as she had other customers out and about.

-

He came home to his parents dancing in the middle of the bedroom just dancing away without a care in the world.

They only had eyes for each other.

Fog's heart ached for a relationship like his parents even though he might know their full story and he just hoped he would find someone in this small town that could love him for he was and be ever faithful, male or female he didn't care, he just wanted someone to hold in his arms.

He chuckled at his mother stepping on father's toe and apologizing a few times but his father smiled before taking mother back into his arms, kissing her cheek and lightly nuzzling her hair.

Fog watched them for several minutes before silently moving out of the room and heading outside, slipping his coat on as he watched the snow fall through the windows and stepped out onto the porch. A slight shiver went through his body as coldness hit before calmed and he watched with a peaceful expression.

Something red flashed by as light started to appear on the snow and broaden his range of view, his eyes widened when a girl...no a fairy woman paused in flight to stare at him and coyly smiled lightly wiggling her fingers at him and twirling in front of him before she vanished into thin air.

Fog stared into the empty space until he shook his head and rubbed his eyes, mumbling quietly to himself while heading back into the house, “Must of imagined it...fairies aren't real...are they?”
